J.A.G. & Sons Overhead Door began when owner, Joe Giaquinto, left his job as a garage door repair technician at a small company to start his career as a firefighter. What started out as Joe lending a helping hand to friends and family with their garage doors on his days off, turned into a full-time business. Because of his quality work and fair prices, he quickly gained a loyal following through word-of-mouth referrals.
Joe’s father was a successful businessman and taught him early in life the importance of standing behind one’s work. Joe trained his own sons, Greg and Matt, with this same work ethic. From their teen years, Greg and Matt helped Joe when he needed extra hands, and now the father and sons run J.A.G. & Sons Overhead Door together. To also achieve this goal, some of the certifications J.A.G. & Sons have acquired is being a proud member of the International Door Association (IDA) circa 2018. In 2020, the company also became an Accredited Dealer through the Institute of Door Dealer Education and Accreditation (IDEA). Additionally, Greg has earned multiple certifications through the IDEA and recently became the newest member of the Professional Door Association of New England.
J.A.G. & Sons Overhead Door is one of two IDEA certified garage door dealers in the state of Connecticut. This is a tremendous honor that they worked to earn through their extensive knowledge of garage doors and the upholding of excellent business practices. The IDEA or Institute of Door Dealer Education and Accreditation is a highly respected program. It works to improve on the garage door industry and rewards dealers that go above and beyond to provide quality services. IDEA training consists of a six-part, rigorous course examination and thorough documentation of business practices. Joe Giaquinto – Founder/Owner
As the respected founder and patriarch of J.A.G. & Sons Overhead Door, Joseph “Joe” Giaquinto has woven his deep community ties and a reputation for trust into the very fabric of the company. Admired by customers and colleagues alike, Joe is also a full-time career firefighter in West Haven, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to service and safety. An I.D.E.A. certified installer for both residential and commercial systems, Joe’s more than 25 years of diligent work and genuine desire to help others are the cornerstones upon which the company’s stellar reputation stands.
Michelle Giaquinto – Social Media Marketing Manager
Newly appointed to the role, and wife of owner Greg Giaquinto, Michelle brings to the table an extensive background in visuals. After attending school and working as a merchandiser and stylist for years prior, she has a knack for making whatever she works on look good! After leaving her part time job late last year, she has taken on the role of keeping up with JAG & Sons social media presence since late December. Bringing a fresh eye to the scene, she has and is continually looking to help our business learn and grow as much as possible!
