J.A.G. & Sons Overhead Door began when owner, Joe Giaquinto, left his job as a garage door repair technician at a small company to start his career as a firefighter. What started out as Joe lending a helping hand to friends and family with their garage doors on his days off, turned into a full-time business. Because of his quality work and fair prices, he quickly gained a loyal following through word-of-mouth referrals.

Joe’s father was a successful businessman and taught him early in life the importance of standing behind one’s work. Joe trained his own sons, Greg and Matt, with this same work ethic. From their teen years, Greg and Matt helped Joe when he needed extra hands, and now the father and sons run J.A.G. & Sons Overhead Door together.

In 2020, the company also became an Accredited Dealer through the Institute of Door Dealer Education and Accreditation (IDEA). Additionally, Greg has earned multiple certifications through the IDEA and recently became the newest member of the Professional Door Association of New England.

J.A.G. & Sons Overhead Door is one of two IDEA certified garage door dealers in the state of Connecticut. This is a tremendous honor that they worked to earn through their extensive knowledge of garage doors and the upholding of excellent business practices. The IDEA or Institute of Door Dealer Education and Accreditation is a highly respected program. It works to improve on the garage door industry and rewards dealers that go above and beyond to provide quality services. IDEA training consists of a six-part, rigorous course examination and thorough documentation of business practices.
